Over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th June the B Festival took place, a fantastic day/ evening event where the entire village got together and were entertained.

It started with the pop quiz on Wednesday in The Olde Royal Oak, and then the scarecrows started to appear.  Saturday morning saw the treasure hunt and then the fete in the afternoon, with local talent and other entertainment along with stalls in the marquee.

The evenings entertainment kicked off with the Rowlett’s Hill School Steel Band, followed by Sadge and Andre, Becky Fleming, then the main act Simon Honey Boy Hickling, this was attend by 360 + locals.

A church service in the marquee on the Sunday was well attended and an afternoon tea for the older residents and those on the village committees with the ladies making it a very colourful in their Sunday afternoon best.

We hade some funding for the event to start us off and contacted most of the local business in the surrounding area to help, they generously supported us with donations of money or prizes for our tombola.

The B Festival team would like to thank any one who sponsored the event or donated in someway and to all the villagers and our local neighbours for supporting the event, we hope you all had a great time

The Foundation of the Hospital -Cottage Hospital Lutterworth

The Feilding Palmer hospital was erected in 1899. Built in memory of the Rev. Edward Feilding (a descendant of the Feilding family) who had died in 1897, by his widow, the hospital was designed to house eight patients; four female and four male. Originally people had to pay for the care they received at the hospital but those who could not pay could apply to either the parish, a hospital trustee or the Justice of the Peace, for the fees to be waived.
